January 2010
Dear Member of our Community,
No More Sidelines...a recognized, not for profit volunteer organization founded right here in Muskegon.

No More Sidelines helps kids with special needs meet other kids in a safe and nurturing environment. No More Sidelines gives them the opportunity to participate in sports activities and community events.  The fun-filled atmosphere of all No More Sidelines activities not only develops physical skills for children and young adults with special needs, but also helps to develop personality and social skills.  They feel safe, they build confidence, and most of all, they’re having fun.

In just four years, No More Sidelines has increased the opportunities available to children and young adults with special needs in the Muskegon area.  The yearly calendar is filled with in-season sporting activities, such as basketball, track and field, softball, soccer, and bowling.  We also offer monthly social activities, including dances, movies, fishing, overnight camp trips, roller skating, and the opportunity to attend several community events together.  The community support so far has been tremendous, with donations of equipment and facilities, volunteers and uniforms, just to mention a few.

NMS participates in a variety of fund raising activities throughout the year in an effort to raise the money needed to provide fun activities for its members. Here are just some of the expenses that fund raising has helped to cover: uniforms, fees, equipment, Monthly Community Outings, Mailings/postage, Insurance, etc

The efforts of NMS families & friends make funding our activities possible and we THANK YOU !

Cyndi often is asked “How can I help?” “Is there something I can do to help?”. It is time to begin meeting regularly & take people up on their offers to help! NMS has the wonderful problem of GROWING & more help is definitely needed. We’ve been having a “Worker Bee” group meet the 1st Tuesday of every month 5:30-6:30 PM at 125 E. Southern Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442.
This has definitely helped, so we’ll continue. BUT….February 2nd  we will be in Fruitport  playing basketball so we will have the Feb meeting on 2/9/10.
